Yesterday's MeetingFirstly, apologies for running over again, past our 8:30 scheduled finish time. In future, I think I'll be saving some of the more "admin" anouncements for this newsletter (so please continue to read it!). Some great 60 seconds; well done to Mark, for taking the Tudor Cup. In his absence next week, we'll be picking a name at random, to choose the winner for "Entertainers Day". On the subject of our Visitor Focus Day, how's everyone getting on with their invites? It looks like a few targets will be attending the Best of Richmond event at Twickenham Stoop tonight, so I'll be battling with the other members to bag a visitor! Please let Mark, John Frye and Myself know by the end of the week, who you are expecting on the day. I'm hoping record levels of sausages will be required. Thank you for paying attention during what must have seemed like quite a ranty Ed Slot. Attendance is a major factor in deciding where we appear in the "traffic lights", but more important than that ... the most successful chapters are the ones with the better attendance record. We all know that life happens, and that some absences are inevitable, but by not being in the room, we miss the opportunity to ingratiate ourselves further with our fellow members (Sales Team!) and benefit from more referrals. If anyone needs help in getting a sub, at long or short notice, let me know, and I will be happy to throw an email out to the group. We also have a number of contacts, between us, in other local chapters. So there should be someone we can get to stand in, do your 60 seconds, and represent your business in the room whether you're sunning yourself or nursing the next pandemic! Events & AnnouncementsThe Referral Skills workshop is TONIGHT, packed with invaluable information for those who might be finding it difficult to get good-quality referrals. I really enjoyed this one. It would be great to get a good Tudor turnout to this one, so please book yourself in if you can (unless you're going to the Best of Richmond). There are more dates coming up. Ask Katy or check the Tudor website for details: Referral Skills WorkshopTONIGHT - Wednesday 21st October Hampton & Richmond Borough FC Get those last-minute calls in, for Visitor Focus Day, NEXT WEEK, 27th October, with the theme of Entertainers! All visitors are welcome, and here are some more ideas for some on-topic categories you might wish to invite:
We're looking to inject some fun into this meeting, so the more entertaining their 60 seconds, the better! This is a great opportunity, also, to convert some visitors to Members, and get a whole new category or Power Group in the room. Any Other BusinessIanAs mentioned yesterday, Ian Green has chosen to leave the chapter after 4 years, citing a lack of paid business from his efforts in the room. I'm sure we'll all keep in touch and continue to pass business to Ian, and wish him well in his endeavours. He's been a great servant to Tudor, as a member, and more recently as Chapter Director. I'll try to get him along to our next Social. SocialOn the subject of socials, our Events Coordinator, Lindsey, is looking around for an organised Fireworks display for some time around Guy Fawkes Night. We hope to make details available next week. There's nothing in the Tudor kitty at present, so it will be a self-funded excursion for those who are interested. LensburyAs mentioned on Monday, the breakfast is staying! It's not ideal, but I hope to at least get us some extras such as toast, for one (a popular request). If you have any suggestions, let me know, and I will put them to the Lensbury. On a positive note, the extra table seems to have improved the layout considerably, and given more elbow room to all our diners. Please continue to give me your feedback on all facets of the meeting. AOBThere are still some missing BADGES in the room. This will be even more important next week, when we have several Visitors in the room. Please help them feel welcome, by giving them a name that they don;t necessarily have to remember! If you do forget, then please get yourself a makeshift sticky label badge. Also, if you're due a nice "X Years Member" ribbon to go on your badge, please let me know, and I will get them ordered from those on high. And Finally...Linkedin (again). Following my announcement last week, I set up a Group called "BNI Tudor Chapter", and swiftly deleted it when I discovered that Mark Archer had already created "BNI Tudor" some weeks earlier! If you are on LinkedIn, search Groups for "BNI Tudor" and request to join. That's the best way of our members hooking up in the virtual world. Have a great week. I'll see some of you tonight at The Stoop. For those who are going, enjoy training, and see you next Tuesday for an even more entertaining meeting of Teddington's finest! Matt.
